The main activity I taught from this unit was how to summarize
appropriately. The chapters are fairly short and I had noticed
most of my students going on and on in their summaries. So I
taught them how to summarize in 1-2 sentences. I felt this book
lent itself to lessons in inferring, questioning, and
summarizing. I have my students write reading responses and
work in buzz groups. LOVED the book! I know your students will
really enjoy it!!
