Traditionally I have my students read "Le Petit Prince" in 4th year, but I need change. I have recently read "Oscar et la Dame Rose" which is about a child who is dying of cancer and with the help of a reluctant hospital volunteer finds the meaning of life. A good/quick read for anyone interested. I would suggest for your personal library.

I am considering this book because 1. each "chapter" is a letter written to God which makes assignments easier to keep organized, 2. current topic/author and 3. the movie is well done and follows the book closely.

Has anybody else read this book? I question about reading about cancer not knowing my students history/comfort level with the subject which I would look into before starting this project. Thoughts?
