This post is to let you all know about a new web reference
that recently launched.
It is called Book of Odds and its mission is to be world’s
first reference on the odds of everyday life. It is a
destination where people come to learn about the things that
worry or excite them, to read engaging and thoughtful
articles, and to participate in a community of users that
share their interests and ambitions.
Hopefully health teachers will use the site to relate common
(and uncommon) health risks to to their students in a way
that students can relate to, engage with, and enjoy.
For instance, Book of Odds states that, "The odds a female
will ever be diagnosed with breast cancer are 1 in 8.28 (US,
2004 - 2006)."
This could be used this month when teaching your students
about breast cancer awareness.
