A good friend of mine comes to our school once a month to do Art enrichment with all of our Kindergarten classes. She features a new artist each time, usually bringing in pictures of the artist for the students to look at. This month she did Pablo Picasso. She held up one picture of Picasso (as a young man in a long dress/cloak) and asked the students to tell her what they saw. Most commented that he had a smile on his face or long hair. One child raised her hand and said, "Oh, he must be a cross-dresser". We thought we were going to have to leave the room. It made my day!
