Yes, they would be an African-American. I find this one somewhat foolish and politically incorrect. These should be humourous, and not offensive to any race or those who may have been born in Africa and moved to the US. I know it was not intended that way, but be very careful of the way you present humor. Your humor may not be humorous to others, especially if it involves race, religion, gender, etc. There are several whites that are born in Africa, and they consider themselves African, as they should.
