Eight or nine years ago I had a student who absolutely ran
me ragged. I liked him, but his misbehaviours were
constant, and I would go home at night and he'd even be
misbehaving in my dreams.

His mother was involved, but not always in a good way.
Sometimes she'd be very reasonable but other times
her "baby" could do no wrong.

For Christmas that year I was (secretly) hoping that during
the two weeks away from him I would NOT dream of him each
and every night.

So, for Christmas (of course) he gave me a homemade
Christmas Tree ornament, made from a picture frame, with
lots of really cute added details. In the center, you
guessed it, was a 6 by 8 photo of him.

I do hang it on my tree every year. It's funny how, after
all these years, I can look at it and remember hiim fondly.
That first year, he had to hang on the very back of the
tree, facing the wall, for my sanity.
