Re: Teacher Retirement Party![]()

Well, I never did get any suggestions before I hosted my mother's
retirement party, so I just gave it a whirl on my own. I went
with a Barn/BBQ theme. We used red & white check tablecloths and
sunflowers. It turned out very cute! I also found some cute
small tin pails at Target for $1 each. I filled each with sand
and a candle and used that as a centerpiece for each table. I
also had 4 votive candles on each table with a garland of
sunflowers circled around each pail. We also made a big banner
that said, Congratulations Carol and it also had a picture of a
schoolhouse "X" out and a picture of an apple "X" out. The BBQ,
hash, chicken, potato salad, and cake were delicious!!! I also
showed a funny video of my mother dancing on her school roof for a
fundraiser one year and then had her do the dance again along with
other educators at the party. My mother was surprised and
thrilled with all of it!! Good luck with your retirement parties.
