I was looking back through my journal on a 4th grade lesson I
did on the continents a year ago. I totally forgot this had
happened!
I had asked the students what continents were and after about
three wrong answers, I saw one hand raised ramrod straight
into the air. I called on the student and he said "Continents
are when old people pee in their pants and have to wear those
diapers for old people." The whole class started laughing and
wanted to share their stories of "continence" so redirected
the students to see if anyone else knew what continents were.
Thank goodness the next answer was the correct one, but that
was priceless - Continents vs. incontinence!
It still brings a smile to my face!
