To answer your question, no I don't think it would hurt you. I would
suggest that you become heavily involved in your professional
association for teacher-librarians in your state. This provides a
fabulous way to network.
The Teacher Technology Center chatboards are for educators who teach computer classes or educators who have an interest in technology and related areas.
