As a brand new primary librarian I would LOVE to have lesson
plans posted. One I recently did was to read "Crazy Day at
the Critter Cafe" to my second graders then paired them up
(they pulled socks out of a bag to see who their partner was)
and they took turns being the waiter and then the customer. I
had made up a menu from the book which listed the food, an
abbreivation for the food and the price. I used empty paper
plates in the "kitchen" and made the order pads out of used
library cards. The waiters had to add up the total of the
order and give it to the customer. I was the "manager" and
checked over all the orders. They really had a good time with
it. We talked about being courteous as both waiters and
    customers.
