Post: "The First Day of School" short story from READ magazine

    Posted by Christine on 8/25/08

Does anyone have a copy of the short story "The First Day
of School"? It's starts with the narrator talking about
getting lunch ready, hoping she has someone to sit with,
picking out the right outfit, going to school, looking at
all of the kids in class, etc....and then you discover the
narrator is the TEACHER who has worries/fears on the 1st
day when everyone was thinking it was a girl the whole
time. It's middle school/junior high level. I had it
when I had copies of READ magazine, but I've misplaced
    that story.
    Any help is appreciated!
    Christine
