I agree - forget the quizzes - all they test is recall and
some of the kids may have read the book now months ago. This
is October.
And there are lots of websites - all with decent summaries
and some free. Punch it into google and check them out. It
takes minutes, not hours.
Have the kids choose one of the books over the others - their
favorite or least favorite- and write a page saying why.
