    Re: Facebook Q
Posted by: FB User on 8/15/09

I am a teacher with a Facebook page, and enjoy it. However,
friends and family know I don't post all info on the open feeds,
which helps. I also watch what I post about work, unless it is a
generic comment ("busy attending meetings today"). Never vent
online. That will catch up with you quickly and often negatively.

Another is a policy I have (I teach high school) is that I never,
ever, ever, add on a former student until they hit about 23 or so.
By this time, they have matured a bit, and in some cases, give up
on adding me as a friend during their college years altogether.
This helps to keep my info private too.

Finally, make sure your settings are "only friends" every time you
do something.....this helps to create a bit more security of your
    own account.

I know our national association has said we should not even have
it, but, I'm sorry, I need a life too. Just as the previous
poster said, be smart, and more cautious than the average user.
