I work in a 6th grade 12:1:1 class with 10 students who have multiple disabilities. I have one child with autism, two with ADHD and the rest with other health impairments. The kids in the class are well below average and fall at least four grade levels in their reading abilities which means they are between kindergarten and 2nd grade. One of the problems I am facing this year is based on the state assessments. According to their cognitive ability there is absolutely no way any of them can pass the state exams or even read half of the questions. If I wanted to try and focus on one idea to help and prepare them for the assessment what do you perceive it to be
