Concerned about being able to get hired

Hi, I am working on finishing up my degree to become a middle/High school math teacher, and while doing this I had to of course get my finger printing done, which shows a felony that was reduced to a misdeminor for something I did 18 years ago. Is something like this going to prevent me from being able to teach in the future? It wasn't against a child or any person and happened while I was in the military. Any insight would be great, I got hired a couple of years ago as a HS coach and had to explain what happen and they hired me anyway, just don't want to get my degree to find out that I can't get hired.
