Re: 1/2 Combo class, Paula!
Posted by Jen on 6/30/07

I teach a 1/2 class and have been for 6 years now. I love it! It is great
having the kids for 2 years. When the second year starts, you already know
that student's strengths/weaknesses. you don't have to take 9 weeks to
learn the kids needs, you just start right off. There is also a lot more
opportunity for individualized instruction. The brighter 1st graders pick
up on what you are teaching to your "old timers" and kids that need
remediation can fit into a group of "first timers" and not think anything of
it. Please feel free to e-mail me if you have any questions. It is a lot
to get use to, but when you do, you will love it.

    Jen
