Re: 4th/5th grade split

I teach a 3/4 and teach most subjects together, breaking apart into groups only for word study (spelling, phonics, grammar, vocab, etc.) and for math. I do reading and writing through the workshop model, and it is very individualized. When we do whole class reading, we do book groups, and when we do whole class writing, I have different expectations for amount done, for different kids... some may have 3 paragraphs, some 5 etc. On 8/15/07, Erica wrote: > I will also be teaching grade 4/5 math in September.
