As a K-1 multiage teacher I can say that most of the research
says you should not do a multiage because of numbers (which is
looks like your school is doing just that). I teach a K-1 with
another certified teacher. We have around 30 students in a
double sized classroom.
Everything for my K-1's is taught together with different
expectations except for math (curriculum is too different).
For my classroom I take one group for math and my co-teacher
takes the other group.
If I had to teach math alone I would probably have 1st grade
practice a previously taught skill while I taught K the days
math lesson. Then the K's would practice that skill or another
math game while 1st got instruction.
