Just an add-on to my last remark-think about it this way: a
math teacher cannot make a student do math either or an
English teacher make a student write a report! You let the
students know what is expected of them and if they don't
meet your expectations (and I'm not talking about a 4-minute
mile)it will show on their grade. In my book, if you ask
them to do something reasonable and they refuse, that is
insubordination and being uncooperative which is a big part
    of the grade-ccoperation!
