I've been teaching preschool for 20 years now, and it seems like the noise level in the classroom bothers me more and more the older I get. The noise is just from their voices talking with each other, but no one seems to understand what a quiet voice is and that you don't need to be loud to talk to your neighbor right next to you. Any tips to help them become more aware on how loud they are? I've tried to demonstrate, to remind them they are only talking to someone close, I remind them that there are older kids working in classrooms around us so we need to be courteous for them. My ears physically hurt and I go home at the end of the day with them ringing at times.
