Just beginning my first year as a reading teacher and have
started doing Word Journeys for the first time. I am
curious about when to move on to the next list of words. Do
they need to have 100% on the test at the end of the week,
or is it ok if they miss one or two words (not the feature
but a backwards letter or vowel confusion) I have a group
that seems to be catching on to affricates and final blends
and digraphs (I have two different groups going at the same
time) but I am so worried that moving on to the next set of
words isn't what I am supposed to be doing. I have figured
out through the assessment that one of the kids definitely
needs to go back to work on vowels, but the remainder seem
to be doing fine. Any advice is appreciated!!
