I would start with the back to school theme if you teach
second grade which teaches the strategies of reading. The
would review phonics and PH awareness by reviewing abc and
the songs. The probably making words game. For fluency read a
back to school story ask questions about the story. Also I
would have them practice the procedures for how I want them
to work in their centers. I would probably have bacic centers
for them to practice. Reviewing the letters of the alphabet.
some examples can be stamping, making words, computers sites,
listening to a story, sorting the the letters. Hope this
helps. Just remember work on a slow pace and the 90 minutes
will go very fast.
