1. Make gingerbread cake, slice it into cubes.
2. Make a custard and mix it about half and half with
pumpkin pie filling. Maybe add some pumpkin pie spice.
3. Layer those two with whipped cream in a trifle bowl
and top the whole thing with crushed gingersnaps (the
three-ginger ones from Trader Joe's are great).

This is now my favorite holiday dessert.

I'm thinking about adding some rum or brandy this year,
but I'm a little afraid I'll spoil it.
