I can't help you with your top tens, though I will tell you
that school districts across the nation are laying off
teachers. As a social studies teacher, I will tell you that
Social Studies is not at all a high needs area and your best
bet is to try to add on another endorsement to make yourself
more marketable. Special Ed, Science and Math teachers are
almost always immune to teacher surplusing.
Urban districts and schools on Reservations generally have
the highest teacher turn over rates so that might be a good
