It seems more likely that it took until she was 8 for someone
to send her to be evaluated. There were clear indicators
before this but they can be often over looked. It is common
and likey that as the expectations become more demanding in
each grade that she may be falling further behind. Find out
where she can have a complete eval and then take it from
there. If her school has a guidance counselor or school
psychologist, that would be the best place to start. Whatever
you do, please don't chalk it up to being "lazy" until you
know more. Dyslexia and ADHD are clearly defined, while LD
is more of a "catch-all" term.
