I am fortunate being in a small district. A few weeks ago at our Staff meeting our principal asked us to brainstorm topics we would like to see at our annual summer "institute". The next week, we got a list of interesting AND meaningful topics from which to choose! Our own staff will be presenting the information giving some of us credit for teaching our colleagues. This is so refreshing because it is from the list of topics that we submitted ourselves! It makes for a better use of our time and with luck learning some new tricks to add to our repertoire!

They are not truly staff developmen...See More

mary Same with our school. Our principal asked what things that we wanted to have presented at our professional development. We discussed the things that we wanted and our proncipal went to work getting it all put together. Staff even volunteered to do teaching. We wanted a writing plan for the whole school and all that staff members got together to put...See More
