Rude teacher

So Tuesday I was learning support all day. I was in the same room with the main teacher all day. He seemed cordial, said hi , but he never asked me once what my name was , never even introduced me to the class, not once. It was embarrassing. I had to tell them when I got some in a small group. When they came to me he said "Go to Mrs. R's group." Not my name , but the teacher who was out's name. It just really bugged me, his attitude. I wonder does it rub off on kids who treat subs bad. At the end of the day I said goodbye but he just waved his hand not even bothering to look up like im not worth it.

Other teachers have acknowledged me in the past and thanked me for being there even though sometimes I do very little to be honest. It is just very strange to me how you can be in the same clasroom all day and someone acts like this.

not ze, but Pixie here. This exact thing has has also happened to me, and you are right, when an adult models disrespect for a sub, the kids pick up on it. Experiences like this are among the reasons why some of us no longer sub as an aide, and try to avoid subbing as a co-teacher.

BJ For every ignorant teacher, there is another that will welcome you with open arms as a fellow professional. I had a 3-day assignment this week in learning support and the regular teachers couldn't have been nicer and more appreciative. I felt welcomed and respected, and they didn't mind if I chimed in during the lesson.
