Thank you SO much everybody....Your comments helped me make a decision that is long overdue. I will be taking my Bachelor's Degree in Education and throwing it in the trash can. I think I'll do that Christmas Eve in honor of the past 2 years of hell that I've experienced as a substitute teacher. I have no hope left of becoming a teacher. I went back to school in my 40's to complete a lifelong dream of being a teacher AFTER I raised my children. What a waste of a dream.

I am subbing today, and as soon as I'm done on this post, I will be job hunting on the internet INSTEAD of paying attention to the students in my classroom. They can complain all they want to the regular teacher, but "frankly my dear, I don't give a damn". Write me up, call the district, tell f**cking AESOP for all I care. Starting with the New Year I am getting out of the Communistic school system.

Teachers are not paid during the summer!! I am retired now and so happy I got out when I did. Teachers put up with so much and endure horrible criticism. Some are lazy and incompetent, but they are the exception rather than the rule. Teachers are now slaves of the system.

Gina Teachers do not make enough money. Substitute teaching is horrible, and hardly ever leads to jobs, as far as I've ever heard. Most teachers are dedicated, wonderful professionals. I just wish some of them would retire before they are 70, so the market would open a bit!
