! Heifer offers week-long trips to Honduras designed
specifically for K-12 and College and University educators
who are interested in learning in-depth about Heifer's
approach to sustainable development, as well as root causes
of hunger and poverty in the country. Participants will
learn about these issues in a series of workshops at the
beginning of the trip, and then visit with the project
partners in their homes or communities to find out more
about their lives, their hopes and dreams, and- most
importantly- their work with Heifer to create a better
future. Participation in these special trips is by
application. If selected to join the trip, participants are
eligible to receive a grant from Heifer. The grant covers
international air transportation from a selected departure
city, land transportation within Honduras, accommodations
and meals, and resource materials for teachers,
administrators and other educators. Next summer, these
trips will take place in late June.
