Personally, I learned a lot just from going to www.microsoft.com
as well as the website for whatever brand of hardware I had.
Often you can look at PDF manuals online that can help you get
through problems or try Microsoft fixes. It takes a bunch of
hunting to find what you need, but it's always worked for me!
And even just googling the problem can bring up help areas all
over. Heck, I just found out I could get white-out off of khaki
pants using WD40 from googling "how to get white-out off of khaki
pants" -- no kidding. So computer fixes are just as interesting
to find.
