Post: Have you used Google Docs? Freelink.org? Hotchalk?
Posted by just discovered them on 7/30/08
I just found Google docs. It sounds wonderful, but I was
frustrated that the table I created in Word did not upload
and download properly and that I could not merge cells, etc
while in Google docs. Have any of you used this with
success?
Freelink.org is a site I found recently that I really like.
You can post your favorite bookmarks there to share with
others. They need no password, only your webaddress. Be
sure that if you sign up you use the username that you want
to be part of the url. I made one to share with colleagues
and one to share with students (game sites, etc.).
I used Hotchalk as my class web page last year and loved
its simlicity. They are in the process of making changes to
it, so I can only hope it will still be as useful and easy
as it was. It is free, and you can upload documents and
powerpoints. I didn't use it, but it also has the option of
using it for assignments, gradebook, and class rosters.
