I would look for web-based communications (I'd be interested in
what the professor defined this as) that provide security and also
allow for student-to-student collaboration. Email is a HUGE deal
in my district (as in the kids do not have their own email, so the
teachers are left to figure out how to use many web 2.0 tools
without having email). What is the level of this Super Tech
School? That is a big consideration. Elementary students will have
different needs and priorities than secondary students. You likely
will want to pull up ISTE (International Society for Technology in
Education) and check out the NETS for students. These are the
technology standards for students (what they should be learning in
schools). I would include a wiki platform at the bare minimum.
