This is obviously a case for Sherlock Holmes. Since USB
cables cost upwards of 8 to 10 bucks when purchased in a
regular store, like Staples for example, we may conclude that
USB cables are intrinsically valuable. We also observe that
USB cables are typically not supplied with the equipment they
are used on, because the equipment itself is often so
inexpensive and has such a thin profit margin that supplying
the USB cable along with it would mean the equipment would
have to be sold at a loss. From that rather simple
observation, we may conclude that USB cables are also rather
rare. Now, my Dear Dr. Watson, allow me to place this ten
dollar bill here on a city sidewalk along with this shiny new
USB cable. Would you care to hazard a guess as to what will
happen to one or the other or both of these within the next
hour or so?
