I do my class site and building site using dreamweaver. I have
always been told that the main page of a site should be
default.htm

Check and make sure that you have put the site identification
info in correctly. In particular, make sure everything is in
your root folder. Also check your FTP Host and Host Directory.

If all else fails, find someone you trust who uses
dreamweaver. Give them your site id info and let them take a
look at what you have.
