    VERY important if they go into certain fields.
    If they go into any sort of web design, it's a required skill.
    If they go into any sort of web development at all, be it
    software, flash, etc. it's a required skill.
    If they go into computer science, it's a gateway language to
    help them better learn java, javascript, perl, C++, etc. so
    it's very important.
    If they go into any database work, sql is required.
    There's probably some things I'm missing too...
