There is a lot on the internet. You have to dig deep, but
it's out there.
As I used the SMARTboard more and more, the ideas started to
enter my mind as I was planning. It snowballs...a little at
first, then more and more.
In the beginning, give yourself extra time to account for
things not going how you planned. Also, don't treat it like
a powerpoint presentation. It is much more that that.
For example, I made a model of the manipulatives Algeblocks
using the software that comes with the board (Notebook
software). Each page had a different problem. The kids had
to set the problem up at their desks using the Algeblocks.
Then a random number generator (in the notebook gallery)
would choose a student to come up to the board and move the
pieces into correct places. When the kids got a correct
answer I would tap on the smiley face and a "rockin" song
would come on. The whole class would sing the song. It was
great!
Good luck and have fun with it!
