I use spellingcity each week in my classroom for spelling
activities.
Each Monday I put the words in a word list under my name so
students can search for this weeks words. During center
time one of my stations is the smartboard station and they
(2 students at a time) go to spellingcity and play the games
with the words that I have loaded for them. They love it!!
Some of the problems are,
-some of the games use definitions and they do not work with
some of our lists. I sometimes have a group of words that
can be used in some contexts interchangably (ex. color
words) or some are so simple (so, go, no) that there can be
many possabilities for the answer. They get frustrated when
the sentence does make sense to them but the computer said
that it dosn't.
-the sound for test me does not work along with some of the
other games and other sounds (like applause for hang mouse)
does work
They love most of the games and I really like the new ABC
order game. We just introduced ABC order in our classroom
The parent feedback that I have gotten is also great. They
think that I am a genius for finding your site!
I have one of their spelling homework options to go to your
site and play the games for this weeks words.
I love the site and so do my students!!
Thank you
Lill
