After being in the classroom for many years, I have a wealth of knowledge to share. I have a Masters in Learning Disabilities and a 6th year in Counseling. I've worked with behavior issues and set up behavior mod systems. One of my greatest strengths is talking to kids and helping them deal with issues. I've also spent time helping parents deal with their adolescent. In addition to that, I've created many project based learning activities in Social Studies which my students have thoroughly enjoyed. I love having kids work collaboratively with groups and have set up a system where each semester the kids work with a different group. I believe whole class learning is important but collaborative groups really help the creative juices begin to flow. My classes have especially enjoyed working on poetry booklets and actually having their poems published in an Anthology of Poetry for all grades.
