Cindy first of all best wishes in 2nd grade this was the
first year for me after many years of teaching older children.
Here are a few centers I have used this year.
Computer center- Have specified websites and software
programs kids can go directly to for your reading or math
centers.
Grammer,Usage, and Mechanics center- preprinted worksheets,
or workbook pages for the skills your working on for the week.
Penmanship center- cursive writing,or for those who still
have difficulty printing letters correctly.
Dictionarty/Vocabulary center- not to early to teach the
children dictionary skills. This helps them practice
printing, learn about guide words. parts of speech, word
pununciation etc...
Games - This is great! Start looking for reading games you
can make over the summer time. Kids love this! i have found
so many reading games surfing the net. This is very cost
affective. Some of these games will be great skill reviews
while the students have fun.
