I did an activity on various types of propulsion with my 4th
grade students which they loved...First was a slingshot
launch, then we did the balloon & straw on a string launch,
and then we graduated to the alka seltzer and water launch.
They compared data they observed and collected and formulated
a pretty indepth report following the scientific method. I
did this as a cross-curriculum approach to my writing and
reading lessons and the kids ate it up. It helped they apply
math and science concepts also!
