I couldn't agree more Tom!
I think that -given the choice- most teachers would rather see that
money allow more of their students to participate in a tremendous
educational and life experience. Most, but not all.
I've recently started my own company in Canada. As a small outfit, I
can't compete with the incentives of the major players. My aim is to
put those resources toward helping the groups travel: a seperate
charitable fund, donate prizes for an on-line raffle and innovative
programs to allow groups to get significant discounts on their
travel.
Time will tell if this is approach will be well received.
Thanks!
