I do this once a week or once every other week. I try to keep it
random so the students aren't expecting. I have several small
beanie baby animals who love to hide in clean desks. When the
kids find them, the reward is they get to keep that animal as
their friend for the day: read to him, take him to recess, etc.
At the end of the day they return the animal to their "homes"
until the animals are once again tempted to hide in a super clean
desk. The best part is I don't have to have candy, stickers, etc
on hand as rewards.
