I think that a stuffed animal is a great idea for a classroom
pet. This way over vacations you don't have to worry about a live
pet and who has to take care of it. Also there is no way this pet
can ever die. My advice is to go get a cute bear or a fun animal
like a lion from a toy store. Then bring it into class and have
the class agree on a name. A journal should accompany the pet
when it goes home with the students. An idea is to have the
student either draw a picture of something that the pet and them
did together. They should also have to write a little story about
happened with the pet when it stayed at there house. Also the
children can just take the pet home on the weekends and the pet
can stay in the classroom durning the week. Hope this helps!
