I had a pet rabbit when I taught kindergarten for a while and
it was small too. I used a large hamster/guinea pig ball to
let it roam around the room (and the air holes in it were
small enough that any waste pellets wouldn't end up all over
the floor!). He was soft, friendly, and easy to care for. I
would recommend a rabbit for a pet.
