    I have a Betta named Spike. My kids adore him. He is not too
    much work, other than it is recommended that you change the
    water once a week, but very two weeks is okay. Also, you have
    to make sure that they only eat a little and remove the extra.
    As for with the plant, that is so much easier actually! Just
    keep the leaves out of the water or it will yuck up the
    water...and i assume you want to see the fish! Good Luck.
