Getting a job in Anchorage is a lot easier than it used to be. If there is a job fair
in your area, I would highly recommend attending it. Check out the website for
further info. There are also other links about getting your Alaska certification.
You will want to make sure you are "highly qualified" before you come here.

MatSu is a much smaller district (about 800 teachers, compared to 2800 at
ASD). Currently they have a higher pay scale and better health benefits than
Anchorage. Housing costs out there are lower too. I think it will be pretty
competitive to get a job there next year.
