Our weather is very changeable in the summer, esp. then. Be
prepared for anything from cool/rainy in the low 40s to hot &
sunny in the low 80s (warmer if you head north to Talkeetna &
Fairbanks.
I think summer school ends in mid July but the office staffs start
to come back in early August. In fact, registration for the school
year is the week of August 6 so you could go to the ASD website
(www.asdk12.org) and look around for schools and just pop in and
introduce yourself to the principal that week. Since the schools
will be busy with parents/kids they might not mind chatting with you.
