Re: Alabama Teacher's Test ?? To: Wendy

Wendy,
Not to scare you away, but I definitely wouldn't move here until you have
secured a position. I am a teacher from FL and have found it extremely difficult
to find a job. I have even looked at the private schools. There seems to be a
huge amount of teachers in the area and they just don't need them! I got hired
into a temporary position last year. They don't treat their teachers well b/c
let's face it, they don't need them! They have people knocking down the doors to
work for them. It is very hard to get into the system and when you do, the
positions are often temporary. This means they let you go at the end of the year
without a care! Then you get to start the process all over again! Not fun!
It's not a bad place to live but I would encourage you to keep your current job
until you find a new one here. We moved here thinking I could easily get a job
and it's been a nightmare!
I wish you the best of luck!
