To be a sub in ANY public school in Alabama, you have to have a
criminal background check. The local police department will do
your fingerprinting. There seems to be quite a backlog, too, so
I wouldn't waste any time getting this done. Once you have a
clear background check, you can apply at any of the local school
boards. The Birmingham metro area has MANY school systems:
Birmingham City, Jefferson County, Hoover City, Homewood City,
Vestavia Hills City, Mountain Brook City, Trussville City
Schools, etc.
