Northwest AR is glutted with unemployed teachers and student
enrollment has stopped going up by double digit percentages. The
big districts, for the most part, have overhired and overbuilt for
the past few years, and at least two of them may be challenged to
meet their current payroll this year. The big four districts have
applications on file for pretty much every teacher in Arkansas, and
a lot of the admin don't even post their openings until they already
know who they're going to hire.
The job search may be easier around Little Rock in central AR, and
if you can take living in a small rural community, southeast AR does
have trouble finding teachers sometimes.
